Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte took part in practice on a limited basis on Wednesday as he continues to come back from a sprained MCL, according to ESPN’s Jeff Dickerson. Forte first suffered the injury in a Week 8 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Matt Forte practices again on Friday, outside chance at fantasy start Sunday
Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte appears to be turning the corner on his knee injury as he continues to practice. We break down the fantasy implications.
Fantasy impact: Teammate Jeremy Langford did a decent job filling in for Forte last week against the San Diego Chargers, rushing for 72 yards, a touchdown and a two-point conversion on 18 carries. That said, it looks like it may be time to hand the reigns back over to the motor of the Bears’ offensive engine.
Forte wasn’t initially expected to return for at least another week or two. Now that he’s participated in three consecutive practice sessions, however, it looks like there’s a definite chance he’ll be ready to go against the St. Louis Rams.
Fantasy owners have to be pumped that Forte might be making an early return, particularly those playing in PPR formats. At the same time, a matchup against the St. Louis Rams isn’t exactly ideal. Follow Forte’s progress prior to Sunday’s contest before making any final decisions.
