Fantasy football advice, Week 11: Who to start/sit for 49ers vs. Seahawks
You might think the Seahawks were having a bad year, until you looked at the other side of the field.
The Seattle Seahawks are 4-5, a disappointing record for a team that was only a yard away from a Super Bowl title last season. Of course, their Week 11 opponent is the San Francisco 49ers, who are 3-6 and currently sporting a different starting quarterback, running back and tight end than they were at the start of the season, so "disappointing" is all relative.
The 49ers put quarterback Colin Kaepernick on injured reserve this week, and will be without running back Carlos Hyde for Sunday's game as well, while wide receiver Anquan Boldin is a question mark for the game. The Seahawks, meanwhile, have running back Marshawn Lynch, wide receiver Doug Baldwin and tight end Luke Willson all on the injury report. Lynch is the most questionable of the bunch, though all three are expected to play.
The 49ers will travel north for Sunday’s game in Seattle. Kickoff is scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET, and here’s a look at the fantasy names to consider:
49ERS
Sit ‘em: You don't want to use Blaine Gabbert in a neutral matchup. Against Seattle? There aren't enough no's in the world. ... With Carlos Hyde out, the 49ers' running game will be a three-headed "monster" of Shaun Draughn, Kendall Gaskins and Travaris Cadet, and no thank you. ... With Anquan Boldin banged up, Torrey Smith unproductive, Garrett Celek unremarkable, and the Seattle pass defense still elite, there isn't a San Francisco pass-catcher you want. ... Phil Dawson might be held scoreless Sunday. ... The 49ers' defense has been bad, with negative-two combined fantasy points since Week 1.
SEAHAWKS
Start ‘em: It looks like Marshawn Lynch will be good to go for Sunday, and if he plays, you're using him, though he hasn't been the typical Marshawn Lynch this year. ... Steven Hauschka has been strong in fantasy all year, and that should continue. ... There's no defense I like more in Week 11 than the Seahawks' defense.
Start ‘em?: You like Russell Wilson a little more against the San Francisco defense, but he's just been so average this year that you would rather look for someone with more upside. ... Big offseason acquisition Jimmy Graham has two touchdowns all year, and only three games of double-digit fantasy points. It's been incredibly disappointing.
Sit ‘em: Unless Lynch is a surprise inactive, you're staying far away from Thomas Rawls. ... Doug Baldwin has his occasional big games, but neither he nor Tyler Lockett really has much week-to-week upside. ... Graham hasn't produced in Seattle, but he has been effective in rendering Luke Willson useless for fantasy.
