New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was participating in throwing drills on Wednesday, according to Brian Costello of the New York Post.
Ryan Fitzpatrick and Geno Smith throwing on Wednesday, fantasy statuses unclear for Week 9
It remains a mystery as to who will be under center for the Jets in Week 9. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fitzpatrick wasn't alone either, as Geno Smith was also seen participating in the same drills. Both quarterbacks were bounced from Week 8's loss to the Oakland Raiders, but the fact that the Jets did not sign any new quarterbacks to the roster indicates at least one will be ready for Week 9. Fitzpatrick tore ligaments in his left thumb while Smith deals with a left shoulder injury, making it difficult to project who will be under center Week 9 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fantasy impact: With Brandon Marshall's status also in the air, it's difficult to feel great about the Jets passing game on Sunday, even with an exploitable matchup at hand. As a result, it's not unreasonable to expect the Jets to go run-heavy with Chris Ivory against a quietly stout Jaguars run defense.
If Fitzpatrick can play effectively despite his injury, he remains in the high-end QB2 conversation and Smith would be a low-end QB2, even if Marshall sits.
