New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said "we're going to get a chance to see more" of C.J. Spiller in the wake of Mark Ingram's season-ending injury, according to Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate.
C.J. Spiller will have expanded role, per report, remains a risky fantasy option
The Saints backfield is in disarray with Mark Ingram now out for the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

Payton had also said that Spiller had been limited earlier in the season due to a knee injury that sidelined him for the preseason. Spiller has had just two games where he has 10 touches or more this season, but Payton's hand may be forced with Ingram out for the season and Tim Hightower and Marcus Murphy being the only other running backs on the roster.
Fantasy impact: It is difficult to imagine any running back in New Orleans replicating Ingram’s production, as he averaged the fourth-most fantasy points per game in standard formats. Hightower remains a candidate to handle early down work, while Spiller could replace Ingram in certain passing situations.
It remains likely that the Saints deploy a committee attack going forward, and fantasy owners would be better off exploring different backfield options for the first week of the playoffs. Hightower can be considered a risky flex option in standard leagues, while Spiller garners flex consideration in PPR formats.
