Cleveland Browns head coach Mike Pettine said wide receiver Travis Benjamin will practice at a limited basis on Thursday, according to Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.
Travis Benjamin returns to practice, remains boom-or-bust fantasy option
The Browns’ deep threat will practice Thursday, but at a limited basis. We break down the fantasy implications.

Benjamin exited Week 13's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals with a shoulder injury, and was held out of practice on Wednesday. Ian Rapoport reported on Monday that Benjamin was unlikely to miss any additional time, and his return to practice coincides with that. The Browns will keep him in a non-contact jersey for Thursday's practice, and it remains to be seen if he will be active on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers.
Fantasy impact: Benjamin's presence in the huddle would be a boon to young quarterback Johnny Manziel, although with the offense struggling as a whole without Josh McCown, fantasy owners would be making a calculated risk by inserting him into lineups. Benjamin has well-documented big-play ability, but that inherently makes him a boom-or-bust option in fantasy leagues, especially with Manziel at the helm.
Benjamin would be a high-risk WR3/flex option for Sunday, but fantasy owners will have to check his status for Friday’s practice before giving him the green light.
