Denver Broncos tight end Vernon Davis returned to practice on Thursday, according to Mike Klis of 9News.
Vernon Davis returns to practice, still presents low fantasy value
The Broncos’ most notable midseason acquisition returned to practice on Thursday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Davis was sidelined for the team's Week 13 win over the San Diego Chargers due to a concussion, but is on track to make his return a week later. He will continue to work in tandem with Owen Daniels at the tight end position, but his contributions to the lineup have been minor since being acquired by the Broncos in a midseason trade.
Fantasy impact: In Davis' defense, a lot has changed in Denver since his arrival, most notably Brock Osweiler now being under center. Many anticipated that Davis would fill the void left by Julius Thomas at the tight end position, but the former 49er has averaged just 24 yards per game and hasn't eclipsed 70 yards in a contest with his new team.
Even against an Oakland Raiders defense that has been dominated by tight ends this season, Davis is nothing more than a low-end TE2 for Week 14.
