Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson is not practicing Friday according to Mike Klis of 9News.
C.J. Anderson remains sidelined in practice, can be left on fantasy benches
The Broncos could enter Week 14 shorthanded in their backfield. We break down the fantasy implications.
It marks the third straight practice Anderson has missed since leaving Week 13's victory over the San Diego Chargers with an ankle injury. With no attendance in practice in preparation for the Oakland Raiders, it remains highly unlikely that Anderson resumes his post in the backfield. Ronnie Hillman is in line to receive the bulk of the touches, while Juwan Thompson will step into a complementary role.
Fantasy impact: Though the Broncos are expected to use two different running backs, the extent of which they do so remains a mystery. Anderson’s absence means a boost in Hillman’s value, but it would be presumptuous to think he would monopolize the backfield.
Despite the uncertainty, Hillman had standalone value even with Anderson in the mix, and he remains an RB2 for Sunday’s game. Thompson would be nothing more than a desperate flex option for standard formats.
