To say the Baltimore Ravens offense has been a shell of itself without Joe Flacco, Justin Forsett and Steve Smith would be an understatement. But fantasy owners can take solace from the unlikely contributions of Javorius Allen.
Fantasy start/sit advice, Week 14: Javorius Allen
The Ravens have gotten production from Justin Forsett’s replacement over the past three games. We break down the fantasy implications.
Since taking over for Forsett in the starting lineup, Allen is second among all running backs in fantasy points per game, trailing only Thomas Rawls. With Matt Schaub now at the helm, Allen has been the beneficiary of several dump-off passes, especially in Week 13 when he caught 12 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins.
Fantasy impact: Despite the Ravens' losing record, all of their games have been close in 2015, but hosting the Seahawks while possibly starting Jimmy Clausen could change that statement. For Allen, it isn't just the Seahawks stout run defense that could hamper his production, but game script could also limit his carries. Fortunately for Allen's fantasy owners, he is just as much of a part of the passing game as the receivers, although there's plenty of reason to doubt that Clausen or Schaub could sustain drives.
Allen’s usage should garner starting consideration on Sunday, but he is more of a RB2/flex option than an RB1.
