UPDATE (2:08 p.m. ET): Head coach Ron Rivera spoke Wednesday and said running back Jonathan Stewart will likely sit Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, according to Fox Sports’ Mike Garafolo.
Jonathan Stewart sits Wednesday’s practice, fantasy status unlikely
The Panthers’ veteran running back could be held out of Week 15’s action due to a foot injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart is not practicing Wednesday, according to Joe Person of The Charlotte Observer.
Stewart exited Sunday's blowout win over the Falcons with a sprained foot and had a subsequent MRI on Monday to assess the damage.
With the Panthers sitting pretty at 13-0, they have plenty of chances to clinch home field advantage, and will likely take it very slow with their veteran running back.
In the event Stewart sits, a committee approach will likely take place between Mike Tolbert, Fozzy Whittaker and Cameron Artis-Payne.
Fantasy impact: It's a crushing blow for fantasy owners who rode Stewart's dependability to the playoffs, and it could very well be the case that he does not play in Week 15's contest against the New York Giants.
It should also be considered that while Stewart sitting out practice on Wednesday isn’t good news for his status, it is not a foregone conclusion that he will miss Sunday’s game.
Practice reports will need to be monitored closely in the meantime, but if Stewart takes the field, he is a firm RB2 for Sunday. Other Panthers running backs would be difficult to trust even in the event Stewart sits.
