Tavon Austin made a difference in Week 14’s win, but is it enough to consider him for the fantasy playoffs? We break down the fantasy implications.

Todd Gurley is the obvious focal point for such a game plan, but Tavon Austin had plenty to offer, as well, even on limited touches. Austin amassed 40 yards on four carries, and has already set career highs in several major categories including yards from scrimmage, receptions and touchdowns.
Fantasy impact: It has become clear that even amid a lethargic offense, Austin has unique speed and agility that is rivaled by few in the NFL. However, despite his playmaking ability, the Rams don’t field an offense that can get him the ball consistently, as has been the case in all three years Austin has been in the league. Fantasy upside will always remain for a player who can take the ball to the house every time it is in his hands, but the downside is simply too high for playoff-bound fantasy owns to ignore.
Austin remains a low-end, boom-or-bust flex for Week 15 against the Buccaneers, but fantasy owners who have made it this far in the season have likely done so while riding more reliable options.
