Fantasy football advice, Week 15: Who to start/sit for Falcons vs. Jaguars
Somehow, Jacksonville is a Week 15 favorite.
The general consensus, entering Week 15, is that the Jacksonville Jaguars are favorites over the Atlanta Falcons. Considering the 5-8 Jaguars are the home team and only a game worse than the 6-7 Falcons, that's not a crazy thought. But flash back to Week 5, when the Falcons were 5-0 and the Jaguars were 1-4, and the notion of an underdog Atlanta would be insane. Still, that's where we are.
Atlanta should have tight end Jacob Tamme on the field Sunday despite his appearance on the injury report with a back issue. The Jaguars, meanwhile, are almost certain to be without running back T.J. Yeldon with a knee issue. Wide receiver Allen Hurns, though, should be fine to go despite the myriad injuries that have dogged him all year.
The Jaguars host the Falcons Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at the fantasy considerations:
FALCONS
Start ‘em: Despite some lesser numbers of late, Devonta Freeman is still a clear must-start running back. ... Julio Jones hasn't scored in five games, but even with that, he's averaged more than 10 fantasy points a game in that time.
Start ‘em?: Since his big 16-point fantasy game, Jacob Tamme has played five games and put up 17 fantasy points. He's a low-end TE2. ... In three games with Atlanta, Shayne Graham has put up 16 fantasy points twice. He's not great, but in a game that should feature points he's worth a look.
Sit ‘em: Why would you bother with Matt Ryan at this point? Yes, he has some elite weapons, but even in a nice matchup, it would just feel dirty using him in fantasy. ... The Falcons' defense has four or fewer fantasy points in eight of 13 games this year.
JAGUARS
Start ‘em: With T.J. Yeldon out, the Jaguars will turn to Denard Robinson, who had a great run as the starter a year ago. He's a strong fantasy play. ... Allen Robinson had his worst game since Week 1 last week. He's been a monster all year. ... Julius Thomas has re-established himself as a must-start tight end with this hot month. ... Jason Myers has 10-plus fantasy points in five of his last six games. That's crazy production for a kicker.
Start ‘em?; Off a hot stretch, Blake Bortles is getting all sorts of fantasy love. I think that love is a bit out of control, but there's certainly considerable upside here. ... Allen Hurns came back from injury last week and put up 16 fantasy points. He's a high-upside flex play.
Sit ‘em: The Jaguars’ defense put up 14 fantasy points a week ago, but had two points in two weeks before that.
SUMMARY
Start in every league: Devonta Freeman, Julio Jones, Denard Robinson, Allen Robinson, Julius Thomas, Jason Myers
