Danny Woodhead provided fantasy owners in PPR leagues with a rarity for the first half of the season, which was RB1 production for a player who was not acquired for a steep price.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Danny Woodhead
The Chargers could get another big game on Thursday night from their pass-catching running back. We break down the fantasy implications.

That all changed after the bye week, when injuries decimated the Chargers offense and they could not sustain drives and score points. Woodhead's value took a massive hit as the versatile running back scored double digits just once in PPR formats from Week 11 through Week 15. But that all changed when Woodhead went berserk on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, totaling 60 yards but finding the end zone four times.
Fantasy impact: It is difficult to envision this level of success for Woodhead in Week 16, but the pass-catching back reaffirmed how dangerous he can be in the red zone despite his slighter frame. The Oakland Raiders have allowed 83 receptions to running backs this season, which is the second most in the NFL. The Chargers would be foolish to not exploit that on Sunday, and Woodhead would benefit the most from that game plan.
Woodhead remains on the RB2/flex radar for Week 16, and would be a savvy option for fantasy owners who hope to hoist their league’s crown.
