If you’re in the daily fantasy sports (DFS) game, you need as many tools as possible to help set your lineup. Sure, there are some things you’ll disagree with, but not acknowledging stats or information is usually a mistake. FanDuel has acquired numberFire to help on some projections for NFL players for each week to give you another tool to help.
FanDuel daily fantasy projections, Week 16: Quarterbacks
Cam Newton is the hottest player in basically any sport right now. Should fantasy owners start him with his high price tag?
Here are the fantasy projections for Week 16:
Top tier
The Panthers are playing and they seem to be going for the 16-0 regular season. Cam Newton seems like he’s indestructible, so there’s little risk in playing him the entire game. It’s not a great matchup for him against the Atlanta Falcons, but who cares?
Blake Bortles should also have a chance for a big game against the Saints while Russell Wilson is also matchup proof.
Bargains
Jameis Winston is a pretty good bargain at $7,300 against the Chicago Bears, who have struggled as a defense lately. If you really want to get crazy, Johnny Manziel is just $6,000, but he’s not someone to trust in a cash game. Alex Smith is a decent low-upside, high-floor guy against the Cleveland Browns, too.
Elite players with subpar matchups
This might be the first time Tom Brady isn’t in the top four for projections. The New York Jets defense is pretty good, the game is in New Jersey, and his weapons are banged up.
