Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery has been placed on injured reserve, ending his season, the team announced Wednesday.
Alshon Jeffery sent to injured reserve, ending fantasy season
With a week remaining in the 2015 season, the Bears have deactivated their No. 1 receiver. We break down the fantasy implications.

With the Bears having nothing to play for on Sunday, it makes sense to keep Jeffery sidelined after also being held out in Week 16. Jeffery has battled hamstring injuries throughout the season, but still posted a 54/807/4 line over nine games while being less than 100 percent and drawing plenty of attention from opposing defenses.
Fantasy impact: Jeffery's contract with the Bears is set to expire after the 2015 season, but the odds are long that a legitimate No. 1 receiver hits the open market. In the short-term, Jay Cutler and company will have to take the field against the Lions on Sunday with Eddie Royal and Zach Miller soaking up the bulk of the targets.
Even in a plus matchup against the Lions, the Bears receiving corps is one to avoid for Week 17. Jeremy Langford and Matt Forte can be given a boost in value with the Bears likely having to lean on their ground attack.
