Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson sat out Thursday's practice with an ankle injury, according to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press.
Adrian Peterson sits Thursday’s practice, can remain in fantasy lineups
The veteran running back is expected to suit up on Sunday despite an ankle injury. We break down the fantasy implications.

Peterson also missed Wednesday's practice due to the same injury, as well as sessions in the week prior to Week 16's matchup against the New York Giants. It has been the norm for Peterson to rest throughout the week and get limited practice time in order to preserve him for meaningful games at the end of the season, and Week 17's routine does not appear to be any different. Peterson is expected to play on Sunday, per Tomasson's report.
Fantasy impact: The Vikings are playing in a game that will determine the NFC North crown, and it will take more than a minor ankle injury to keep the team’s best player out of action. Fantasy owners should not yet be concerned over Peterson’s absences, although Friday’s practice will be telling regarding his status.
Peterson is a top-tier RB1 for Week 17 against the Green Bay Packers and should be started in leagues of all formats.
