The Jacksonville Jaguars have had a potent group of receivers for Blake Bortles in 2015, but when Allen Hurns was forced to an early exit in Week 12 with a concussion, someone else needed to step up.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 13: Julius Thomas
Julius Thomas had his best game in a Jaguars uniform in Week 12’s loss. We break down the fantasy implications.
Enter, Julius Thomas.
The Jaguars had been searching for contributions from their free agent signing, after Thomas missed the early goings of the season due to a hand injury. Week 12 provided that opportunity, and Thomas had his biggest game of the season, catching 9 of 10 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown despite the Jaguars’ loss. It was the second consecutive game Thomas found the end zone, bringing his total to three on the season.
Fantasy impact: Hurns’ concussion appeared to be a severe one, and his timetable is unknown as a result. As long as Hurns is off the field, Thomas can be expected to be looked toward early and often to be a safe option for a young quarterback.
Thomas put up the highest fantasy point total among tight ends for Week 12, and is now firmly in TE1 territory. If he was available on waivers, fantasy owners who need a Rob Gronkowski replacement could do far worse than the former Broncos tight end.
