Philadelphia Eagles tight end Zach Ertz is listed as probable on the team's injury report.
Zach Ertz injury update: Eagles TE probable for fantasy owners
The Eagles will have their starting tight end back in a must-win game against a formidable foe. We break down the fantasy implications.
Ertz could not clear the NFL's concussion protocol in time for the Week 12 Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions, but the extended break appears to have done wonders for the third-year tight end. Ertz practiced at full capacity in preparation for the New England Patriots and will end his one-game absence, barring unforeseen circumstances.
Fantasy impact: Ertz had shown signs of a breakout, especially during a seven-catch performance against the Miami Dolphins. However, after injuries sidelined him in Week 11 and Sam Bradford in Week 10, the Eagles offense has since tanked, getting blown out by the Buccaneers and Lions. Brent Celek caught a touchdown in Ertz's place in Week 12, and also bulldozed his way to 213 receiving yards in Week 10 and Week 11 combined.
Ertz has upside amid an offense that has its peaks and valleys, but it’s difficult to justify starting him in a tough matchup when his team is at a low point. He remains a middle-tier TE2 for Sunday.
