Cincinnati Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, according to the team's injury report.
Tyler Eifert injury update: Bengals TE ‘doubtful’ for Week 13
The NFL’s leader in touchdowns among tight ends will likely not see the field on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Eifert suffered a pinched nerve in his back during the Week 12 blowout win over the St. Louis Rams, was kept out for the remainder of the game, and did not make it back to the practice field the following week. The Bengals' starting tight end currently leads non-quarterbacks with 12 touchdowns, but Week 13 won't provide an opportunity for Eifert to expand his lead in that category.
Fantasy impact: Tyler Kroft will get the start in Eifert's place, but he is not considered a solid fantasy option, even against a woeful Browns defense. Fantasy owners can expect A.J. Green to get all the targets he can handle, with Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu getting expanded looks that they may not otherwise get with Eifert in the lineup.
Eifert is a no-brainer TE1 when he is on the field, and fantasy owners will hope he returns for an enticing Week 14 matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
