Fantasy football advice, Week 13: Who to start/sit for Jaguars vs. Titans
It’d sure be nice if these two teams could give us a good game to watch.
The Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans play twice a year because they are in the same division. And if that's going to continue (and it is), we really need at least one of these teams to get good, because these games have been sad. The most recent example of this was two weeks ago, when the Jaguars eked out a 19-13 win over the Titans in a sloppy Thursday night game. Sunday, they play their second game against one another this season.
The Jaguars will be without wide receiver Allen Hurns for Sunday's game after he was injured in Week 12, but should have all the rest of their primary fantasy contributors ready to go. On the Titans' side, running back Dexter McCluster will miss another game with a knee injury; he's the only fantasy-relevant Titan on the injury report.
The Titans host the Jaguars Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. ET. Here’s a look at the fantasy contributors:
JAGUARS
Start ‘em: There's no question at this point; Allen Robinson is an every-week starter in leagues of any size. ... Julius Thomas has finally started looking like Julius Thomas the last couple weeks. ... Jason Myers has had 12-plus fantasy points in four games in a row.
Start ‘em?: Yes, Blake Bortles has some decent upside. But his propensity for turnovers makes me worried about him in any given week. He's a QB2, but I'd rather look elsewhere. At this point, T.J. Yeldon's usage has been so sporadic and underwhelming that he's tough to use as a regular starting running back. He's a high-end flex. ... The Jaguars' defense hasn't had much upside, but could feast against the Tennessee offense.
Sit ‘em: With Allen Hurns out, Rashad Greene and Bryan Walters should see bumps in usage. Neither is really in the flex range right now, but in a super-desperate situation, there's mild potential.
TITANS
Start ‘em: The only good weekly fantasy option among the Tennessee candidates is Delanie Walker, who has averaged almost 12 points a game over the last month.
Sit ‘em: Since his 32-point Week 9, Marcus Mariota has averaged 14 points a game. He doesn't have much weekly upside. ... Antonio Andrews is the only Tennessee running back you're considering, but neither he nor David Cobb really has much to offer. ... Good luck picking which of Kendall Wright, Harry Douglas or Dorial Green-Beckham to use in a given week. ... Still waiting for Ryan Succop to crack double-digit fantasy points in a game this season. ... The Titans' defense was great in Week 1, and has done almost nothing since.
