The Kansas City Chiefs struggled with production at the wide receiver position in 2014. Jeremy Maclin appears to be set to change that. Maclin played well in the team's third preseason game, catching seven passes for 65 yards. It was a great follow up to his 3-22-1 stat line against the Seattle Seahawks the week prior.
Fantasy football draft strategy: Jeremy Maclin fulfilling his fantasy value
Jeremy Maclin has been a bright spot on the Chiefs’ offense. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

The Chiefs hold a haunting statistic from the 2014 season. No wide receiver scored a touchdown for the team through all 16 games. The team's 18 receiving touchdowns belonged to either running backs or tight ends. It's no wonder why Maclin has been doubted since joining the team this season. However, Maclin and Alex Smith appear to have real chemistry.
Fantasy impact: It’s tough to envision Maclin eclipsing 1,300 receiving yards like he did in 2014. No one on Kansas City’s roster came close to that number last season. It’s understandable why many fantasy owners were drafting Maclin late in the seventh round of fantasy drafts in early August. However, this preseason has boosted Maclin’s value.
Maclin is now being scooped up as early as the fifth round in most drafts. He’s a good value where he is now, but considering the low-ceiling play of his quarterback, any higher might be too much to ask. Maclin is a solid WR2 in all formats heading into the season.
