We all know the drill with the injury-prone guys. It’s never fun to invest a pick on a guy and have him miss 8-10 games while not being anywhere near 100 percent for the rest of the games.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 1: If Jonathan Stewart can stay healthy.....
Jonathan Stewart is healthy heading into the season. Should fantasy owners count on him in Week 1 against the Jaguars?
Subsequently, Carolina Panthers running back Jonathan Stewart probably slid in your draft. He has a slew of injuries in his past, including hip, knee, hamstring and ankle ailments from last year alone. Yikes. Well, the good news is that he’s healthy now.
J-Stew and the Panthers take on the hapless Jacksonville Jaguars on the road for Week 1. They ranked 27th against the run last year, were 26th in points allowed overall and they really are the same team on paper right now — they lost their top pick Dante Fowler Jr. (knee).
The Panthers are in bad shape as a passing offense. They have lost receiver Kelvin Benjamin for the year due to an ACL tear and have easily the worst receiving corps in the NFL. They’re expected to start Philly Brown and Ted Ginn at receiver, so yeah.
Fantasy impact: Stewart is healthy right now, so you should have him locked and loaded in your lineup as an RB2. He’s arguably a top-five bet to get hurt in the next month, but smoke ‘em if you got ‘em.
