Arizona Cardinals running back Andre Ellington looks like he'll be out for a few games. He even admitted on Friday it could be 2-3 weeks for him to get back on the field. He didn't travel with the team and won't be playing Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
Andre Ellington injury update: Chris Johnson set to start, has fantasy value
Andre Ellington’s injury will keep him from playing in Week 2. We break down the fantasy implications.
On top of missing games, one would think the Cardinals would alter their plans with Ellington. He simply can’t stay healthy, so the team may want to take it easier on him upon his return. In other words, his fantasy owners might want to try and sell him once he’s back on the field. To be clear, his value is just too low to be traded right now.
As for the upcoming 2-3 weeks, it looks like it'll be Chris Johnson handling most of the work. Coach Bruce Arians tends not to trust rookies, which means David Johnson should be the second option despite his magnificent 55-yard touchdown last week.
Fantasy impact: If you need help this week, Chris is probably your guy over David. Once Elllington gets back, David might be more involved, so he’s probably the better stash.
