Chicago Bears receiver Alshon Jeffery has been on the injury report for over one month. His balky hamstring didn't keep him from playing in Week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, finishing with five catches for 78 yards on 11 targets.
Alshon Jeffery injury update: Setback at practice makes him a risky fantasy play
Alshon Jeffery had a setback at practice. We break down the fantasy implications.
He looked like he was going to play against the Arizona Cardinals, but Jeffery suffered a setback and did not practice on Friday. He's now listed as questionable and the team reported he has a "50 percent chance" to play. Jeffery is also experiencing some calf tightness to go with his hammy issue. Not good.
The Bears do have an early game, which means fantasy owners aren’t in a bad spot. Jeffery was a game-time call last week in what looked to be a more encouraging situation, so he has a legitimate chance to miss time. We probably won’t find out until an hour before kickoff.
Fantasy impact: Even if he's active, Jeffery is more of a WR3 this week. Martellus Bennett is a must-start play while Matt Forte should be busy. Expect Eddie Royal and Marquess Wilson to step up as risky plays in deep leagues.
