If you dropped a first-round pick on Denver Broncos running back C.J. Anderson, you're probably one hot potato right now. The 2014 second-half monster has just 56 yards on his 24 carries this season and has yet to score.
Fantasy start/sit advice, Week 3: C.J. Anderson’s value continues to slide
C.J. Anderson is killing his fantasy owners. Should they trust him this week?
Anderson reportedly has a foot/ankle issue, but the Broncos continue to downplay the injury. The reason why he's seen his output go down is that coach Gary Kubiak wants to use a hot-hand approach with running back Ronnie Hillman, who is outperforming Anderson with his 75 rushing yards on 21 carries.
It looks like it'll be a timeshare split again, but the Broncos get a favorable matchup at Ford Field against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are the only team in football to allow four rushing touchdowns and no team has allowed more carries than them, too. They're also 29th in rushing yards allowed.
Fantasy impact: Even in a timeshare, this is still shaping up to be a nice game for Anderson. He’s not a complete must-start guy, but he should be viewed as an RB2 in most cases. If you can try to buy low before he plays, that seems like a good idea.
