Jacksonville Jaguars running back T.J. Yeldon was a workhorse last week in a win over the Miami Dolphins. The Alabama rookie racked up 28 touches, but he just had 83 total yards, averaging 2.8 yards per carry on his 25 totes. The Dolphins do have a solid defense up front, so things should be a little easier this week against the New England Patriots.
Fantasy start/sit advice, Week 3: T.J. Yeldon could have a big game vs. Patriots
T.J. Yeldon gets the best matchup of his career. Should fantasy owners start him even though there could be a blowout?
There are two ways to look at this matchup: New England is almost certainly going to win this game big, which means the Jaguars might have to pass the ball more in the second half. On the other hand, the Patriots’ defensive line is one of the worst in football, so Yeldon could have some success before things get out of hand.
The Patriots are dead last in yards per carry allowed with a whopping 5.7 and they’re one of just five teams to allow at least three rushing touchdowns. The Jaguars will want to run Yeldon as much as they can.
Fantasy impact: His floor is fairly nice and his ceiling is high enough to consider him as a solid RB2 this week. Hopefully the Jaguars don’t get blown out early.
