The St. Louis Rams rolled the dice with their No. 10 pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, selecting running back Todd Gurley out of Georgia. While Gurley is arguably the most talented back to come out in almost a decade, his ACL tear from last season caused him to slide.
Fantasy start/sit advice, Week 3: Todd Gurley set to make debut
Todd Gurley is on track to make his NFL debut. Should fantasy owners start him right out of the gate?
Now, it seems like he'll be ready to make his NFL debut against the Pittsburgh Steelers after missing all preseason games and the first two weeks. Gurley has put in two full weeks of practice and was splitting the first-team work with running back Tre Mason. That's a fairly strong indication that Mason and Gurley will split.
We should see Gurley get 10-12 touches this week, which could be enough to make an impact against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Although, the Steelers have fared well against the run, allowing just 3.5 yards per carry, and no scores. Their pass defense has been torched in both games against the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.
Fantasy impact: While it’s nice to see Gurley get out there, it’s tough to start him in his first game unless you’re desperate.
