Things aren't going smoothly for the Detroit Lions this year. They're 0-2 and put up just 16 points last week against what was expected to be a weak Minnesota Vikings defense. This week, they'll get a much tougher matchup against the Denver Broncos on Sunday Night Football.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 3: Ameer Abdullah looks to build off start
Ameer Abdullah didn’t do much in his start during Week 2. Should his fantasy owners start him?
Their running game was a disaster with just 38 yards on 16 carries in the loss last week, although their backs were heavily involved in the passing game. An interesting thing on running back Ameer Abdullah is that he's not the passing-down back yet. In fact, Theo Riddick was the top back for snaps with 34, with Abdullah coming in at 30 and Joique Bell down to just 18.
The Broncos are likely going to shut down the run again, which means we will probably see a lot of Riddick. The Lions should figure out a way to get Abdullah more involved this week, though.
Fantasy impact: It’s a tough home game for the Lions and we haven’t really seen Abdullah bust loose yet. He’s more of a flex play right now until he gets more involved in the passing game.
