Atlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman will not play on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys. He suffered a cracked rib last week against the New York Giants and could miss additional games.
Tevin Coleman injury update: Devonta Freeman set for more fantasy value
Tevin Coleman is out for Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.
Coleman's timetable is going to depend on his pain tolerance. Running backs obviously are more susceptible to bigger hits to their ribs, which means we could see Coleman miss Week 4 and possibly Week 5. Without Coleman, it should be the Devonta Freeman show. He lost out to Coleman in a preseason position battle and really didn't do much in his rookie season despite little competition.
In case you missed the Cowboys embarrass the Philadelphia Eagles running game, it's probably going to be a little tougher to expect Freeman to have a big game. On the other hand, he should have plenty of touches going his way with just Terron Ward as his only competition.
Fantasy impact: Considering Freeman can catch passes, he’s a fine PPR RB2 this week. Owners in standard leagues can view him as a low-end RB2 or a strong flex.
