Griffin suffered a concussion during the Washington’s second preseason game, which capped off the latest of his disastrous outings with the team. Griffin is due a fifth-year option worth $16.155 million, which is guaranteed for injury only. As a result, Griffin also has to pass a physical if Washington were to cut him.
Fantasy Spin: Though no decision has officially been made regarding Griffin’s future, the writing is on the wall. Griffin hasn’t been the same quarterback that electrified the NFL in 2012, and head coach Jay Gruden and general manager Scot McCloughan have no ties to the quarterback selected second overall by a different regime.
