Washington secured its second division title in four years during Week 16's win over the Philadelphia Eagles, and earned the option of resting its starters on Sunday.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 17: Kirk Cousins
With the NFC East clinched, Washington will likely turn to its backups at some point in Week 17. We break down the fantasy implications

For fantasy owners who have streamed Kirk Cousins over the stretch of the season, they will have to explore other options than a quarterback who closed his season with 20 touchdowns and three interceptions over his last nine games. Though head coach Jay Gruden has expressed desire to play his starters, he also alluded to not playing them for a full game, according to Master Tesfatsion of the Washington Post.
Via The Washington Post:
“Number one, it’s the health of our football team with these injured guys who are legitimately injured and can’t play,” [Gruden said]. Then, from there, we’ll have to figure out the able bodies that we have, personnel groupings will be adjusted, and then throughout the course of the game, we’ll make adjustments depending on the situation.”
Fantasy impact: It's a risky scenario for fantasy owners to bank on, and all of Washington's playmakers would be best left on the benches. Colt McCoy is likely to see extended playing time, but fantasy owners would likely have far better options at hand during the last game of the season.
With so much uncertainty surrounding Washington’s offense, fantasy owners need to scour their benches and waivers to fill their Week 17 lineups.
