Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte is officially active for what could possibly be his final game in a Bears uniform. Forte suffered a back injury in Week 16 and has been a limited participant in practice all week. There have been no contract negotiations between the team and the 30-year-old running back. Forte will be playing his final regular season game hoping to increase his open market potential.
Matt Forte injury update: Bears RB active for fantasy owners in regular season finale
Matt Forte is officially active for the team’s final game of the season. We take a look at the fantasy implications.

Fantasy impact: The matchup against the Detroit Lions makes for a lot of fantasy potential, and Forte's contract situation makes for a lot of upside. Forte will be a strong RB1 that could deliver big numbers for fantasy owners that are still at it in Week 17. He's a must-start in all formats. Running back Jeremy Langford should factor into the mix, of course. However, this could well be Forte's final performance with the Bears at Soldier Field. It would make much more sense for the team to give him opportunities as a true workhorse this week.
