The 10th week of the 2016 regular season is just about coming to a close with only the Monday Night Football game remaining. Most fantasy football leagues will run their waiver wires late Tuesday or early Wednesday, but we are here to help you get a jump on the best options to consider.
We will be ranking the top five players likely to be available in your league at each of the four major positions. Some weeks there might not be five good options available, but we’ll scour for the best we can find. Additionally, throughout the week, we will update each of these articles as ownership percentages change (via CBS Sports) and news arrives.
Waiver wire wide receiver rankings, Week 11
1. Rishard Matthews, Tennessee Titans (47 percent owned)
Say goodbye to Mr. Matthews, as this will certainly be the last time he is this lowly owned, after scoring another touchdown against the Packers on Sunday. It was his sixth touchdown in his past six games, and it continues to establish Matthews as Marcus Mariota’s top outside threat. Mariota is playing at a high level and Matthews should continue to reap the benefits.
2. Tyreek Hill, Kansas City Chiefs (24 percent owned)
Hill continues to emerge as one of the top rookie receivers in the league – no small feat considering the abundance of young receiving talent in the NFL. Hill proved on Sunday that he was not just the beneficiary of Nick Foles’ presence at quarterback, hauling in 10 of 13 targets from Alex Smith for 89 yards. This was Hill’s true breakout game. In his previous four games, Hill had 11 receptions on 14 targets combined. He will be a popular add this week.
3. Eli Rogers, Pittsburgh Steelers (23 percent owned)
As Sammie Coates retreats into irrelevance, Rogers continues his rookie breakout. Rogers caught four passes for 42 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys, his first score since Week 1. Rogers should continue to serve as the No. 2 wide receiver behind Antonio Brown. Coates had a chance to assume that role, but too many drops led to his drop on the depth chart. The more Rogers and Big Ben get on the same page, the better an option Rogers will become.
4. Tajae Sharpe, Tennessee Titans (12 percent owned)
When the season started, Sharpe was the sexy rookie option at wide receiver. But after a seven-catch game in the season opener, Sharpe drifted out of focus in the Titans offense. On Sunday, Sharpe scored the first touchdown of his career and has now been targeted 12 times over the past two games. While Matthews is the top receiver option (other than tight end Delanie Walker), Sharpe does have the talent to make an impact down the stretch.
5. Taylor Gabriel, Atlanta Falcons (4 percent owned)
After catching all eight of his targets in his previous two games, Gabriel only grabbed one of five targets on Sunday. But when your one catch goes for a 76-yard touchdown, you make the waiver list. Gabriel has been active in this offense for a few weeks and is more than capable of making the kind of play he made Sunday. If you used him in a PPR league, he got you 14 points today. Not too shabby.
