Top daily fantasy football running back plays for Week 11

Welcome to Week 11 of the Daily Fantasy season. Pricing has stabilized as trends have emerged, but there are still bargains to be found and even some higher-priced options that will go underowned and can make a difference in your lineups. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at running back who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.

It certainly appeared that Shady’s hamstring issues were a thing of the past when we last saw the Bills against the Seahawks two weeks ago. With the bye week to help heal him even more, McCoy looks poised for a big week against a Bengals defense that ranks in the bottom quarter of the league against the run. Because the Bills haven’t played in two weeks, and given his recent injury history, McCoy will probably have a low ownership. He makes a great stack with quarterback Tyrod Taylor.

Riddick had back-to-back 23-point outings against tough run defenses in Philadelphia and Houston before playing with an injured ankle against Minnesota two weeks ago. Now with a chance to heal after a bye week, Riddick finally gets to face a bad run defense in the Jaguars. That poor game and the bye should help suppress his ownership, but there is certainly 23-point upside again this week.

Remember the days when Mathews wasn’t the lead back in Philadelphia? That sure didn’t last long. It stands to reason after his monster game against the Falcons that Mathews is back atop the depth chart, and if LeGarrette Blount’s massive game against the Seahawks last week is a guide, Mathews makes a sneaky play this week in Seattle.

Starks made a solid return to the lineup in an otherwise dreary game for the Packers in Tennessee. Washington has struggled to stop the run all season, so Starks should have plenty of room to build on his comeback performance. His price is right, and the Packers’ dud last week should keep owners away.

C.J. Prosise is the flavor of the week at $4,900. He might be the most-owned player in all of Daily Fantasy this weekend. Rawls might barely reach 2 percent. But every time Pete Carroll talks about Rawls, he indicates his once-injured back is in line for a big workload against the Eagles. If you’re looking for a pivot off the massively owned Prosise, look no further than the same backfield.

Lewis didn’t play last week, and his status for this Sunday is unclear. It’s a late game, so no late swap, and given how well Blount and James White have looked, it’s hard to see where Lewis plays enough to pay off even this cheap salary. Wait another week to go here.

Like Lewis, Dixon is another logical pivot off Prosise. But while Dixon has increased his role recently, he’s not quite where you’d want him to be to roster him.
