Ryan Mathews has been wildly inconsistent with his performances this year, but he has shown he can be a viable fantasy option any week.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 16: Ryan Mathews a sneaky play vs. Giants
The Eagles could be without one or both of their top two running backs when the Giants come to town.

Last week vs. the Baltimore Ravens’ vaunted defense, Mathews ran for a season-high 128 yards on 20 carries (6.4 avg.) with one score. It was arguably has best game of the season, but now he gets to face a New York Giants defense that is very tough vs. running backs.
That same defense held Mathews to just 15 yards on five carries (3.0 avg.) in Week 9, though he did have one rushing score. Making him even less attractive is Darren Sproles expected return from a concussion this week, which only takes away from Mathews’ workload.
Fantasy Impact: Yahoo! ranks Mathews as the 23rd-best running back in Week 16. He would face a New York defense allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points to running backs over the last five weeks.
Despite last week’s big game, keep Mathews benched this week.
