Top daily fantasy football wide receiver plays for Week 13

With Week 13 of the NFL season upon us, we take a look at some of the best wide receiver values to be found on FanDuel and some players worth fading.

Welcome to Week 13 of the Daily Fantasy season. Pricing has stabilized as trends have emerged but there are still bargains to be found and even some higher-priced options that will go under-owned and can make a difference in your lineups. This article looks at some of the projected lesser-owned plays at wide receiver who could provide huge boosts to your tournament lineups, as well as some trap plays to avoid.

PLAY

Doug Baldwin $6,900 (Seattle Seahawks vs. Carolina Panthers)

Like the rest of the Seahawks’ offense last week, Baldwin put up a dud against the Buccaneers. But that was on the road against a team on the rise. This week, Seattle is at home against a team that comes limping in on defense, particularly up the middle with linebacker Luke Keuchly and strong safety Kurt Coleman out with concussions. Baldwin should have a field day running routes out of the slot, and recency bias should keep his ownership down.

Jamison Crowder $6,600 (Washington at Arizona Cardinals)

Speaking of key injuries on defense, the Honey Badger is a likely no-go for the Cardinals, leaving Crowder in the same sweet slot spot as Baldwin. Crowder has really come on, with seven consecutive double-digit FanDuel scoring games. With DeSean Jackson likely drawing Patrick Peterson and Jordan Reed ruled out, Crowder could be in for a huge day, despite still being priced like a No. 2 receiver.

Michael Crabtree $6,400 (Oakland Raiders vs. Buffalo Bills)

Let’s ride the injury theme one more time. The Bills have ruled out their No. 2 cornerback Ronald Darby, which opens up so much for Crabtree on the opposite side of Amari Cooper. Crabtree has had three double-digit target games in his past five, and as long as an Achilles injury doesn’t sideline him (he’s expected to play), he should be a busy man once again on Sunday.

Tyreek Hill $5,800 (Kansas City Chiefs at Atlanta Falcons)

Hill went off again last week, lighting up the vaunted Broncos pass defense for 9 catches on 10 targets and a touchdown. In the finest tradition of Ed Podolak, Hill also ran for a touchdown and returned a free kick for a score for a monster game on Sunday night. Can he do it again? Anything is possible against the matador Falcons defense. Hill is way too cheap for the production he provides. He is a tremendous value play this week.

Taylor Gabriel $5,700 (Falcons vs. Chiefs)

I think we all have to accept that this Taylor Gabriel thing is for real. The guy is making big play after big play and now it’s become a weekly happening. His two-touchdown game probably won people a lot of money last week, but I’m not convinced people are buying into it, which should keep his ownership down. This game should feature plenty of offense, so go ahead and get in on the fun.

NAY

Demaryius Thomas $7,100/Allen Robinson $7,000/Emmanuel Sanders $6,400 (Denver Broncos at Jacksonville Jaguars)

Let’s just list them all together and run away as fast as we can. With Paxton Lynch under center, the value of Thomas and Sanders takes a major hit, not least of which because the Jaguars actually possess a high-quality pass defense. Of course, the gold standard resides in Denver, and with Allen Hurns and Julius Thomas unlikely to suit up, Robinson is going to be blanketed by Aqib Talib and friends all day. Run very far away.
