Murray had only 702 rushing and 322 receiving yards in 2015, a year after he had 2,261 yards from scrimmage as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. He was the Eagles' big-name free-agent acquisition before 2015, joining Ryan Mathews and Darren Sproles in the team's backfield. The Titans, meanwhile, didn't get much from their running game in 2015. Antonio Andrews was the team's leading rusher, with 520 yards, while Dexter McCluster, Bishop Sankey and David Cobb each rushed for fewer than 250.
Fantasy impact: Murray was a huge disappointment in 2015, though the fact that he had almost 500 touches with Dallas in 2014 probably didn’t help set reasonable expectations. If nothing else in Tennessee, he’ll be the clear-cut No. 1 back, and that should make him worth a long look in fantasy as a high-end RB2 with elite upside. His arrival with the Titans means none of the team’s holdover rushers have any value beyond handcuff.
Back in Philadelphia, barring another move, the Eagles will run into 2016 with Mathews as their lead back. He’s perfectly capable of being a fantasy contributor when healthy, but that’s a big caveat for Mathews; he’s only played 16 games in a season once in his career. Health issues will likely keep Mathews from being much more than a low-end RB2 at best.
