Philadelphia Eagles running back Wendell Smallwood has been a popular addition on the waiver wire this week due to the injury of Darren Sproles. Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich confirmed Smallwood would have more opportunities following practice this week.
Fantasy football sit/start advice, Week 4: What to do with Wendell Smallwood
Smallwood will have an increased role in the Eagles offense after the injury to Darren Sproles. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Smallwood’s stock rose after he rushed 12 times for 71 yards in last Sunday’s win over the Giants. If he keeps averaging 5.9 yards per carry there will be plenty of opportunities for Smallwood to show what he can do, but will he be able to maintain that production? That is going to be tough to duplicate.
I would steer clear of Smallwood until he can show consistency over multiple weeks. If you are in a deep league and stretched thin I like him as a long-shot play this weekend. He hasn’t had multiple catches in a game this season and only has six receptions in 2016. Filling Sproles’ role in the offense is going to be easier said than done with LeGarrette Blount and Corey Clement also eating up touches.
