And before we knew it, the Charles Clay train derailed. It was a fun ride while it lasted and hopefully we can jump aboard again in a few weeks. The Buffalo tight end was having as consistent of a season as you can expect at the position. Clay is currently the 10th most targeted tight end, but was incredibly efficient, ranking fourth in total points at the position. Other than LeSean McCoy, he was the best thing going in the Bills offense. He’ll likely miss over a month of action as he recovers from knee surgery. Thankfully (?), tight end is the new kicker and you were probably streaming the position anyway.
Fantasy football rankings 2017: Tight ends for NFL Week 6
The SB Nation fantasy staff rounds up the rankings for the top 25 tight ends for Week 6.

The biggest news of Week 5, other than Rob Gronkowski’s absence from the Thursday night game, was Kyle Rudolph finally putting together a solid game. Perhaps much of his success was due to Stefon Diggs missing time, but he is too talented to keep stringing together 2- or 3-catch performances. He gets a tough matchup against Green Bay this week, but with few other options you start him and hope for the best.
Jason Witten and Jimmy Graham are on bye this week. If you need a one-week option, give George Kittle a look. The rookie just had his best game and he plays Washington, who has been giving up points to the position on a regular basis. I can’t blame you if you want to chase Ed Dickson’s stats from last week. He’s topped 50 yards receiving in back-to-back games and Philadelphia can be beat in the middle of the field. Finally, Austin Seferian-Jenkins owners might as well keep their pants off all week. His yardage totals aren’t impressive, but he is definitely involved in the offense and will look to build on his best performance this season with a game against the Patriots, who have given up the fourth most points to tight ends.
It’s never a bad strategy to just pick whichever tight end is facing the New York Giants or Cleveland Browns. However, A.J. Derby and Ryan Griffin have two top-10 finishes between them this season. I can only recommend them for super deep leagues or if you need a cheap option in daily fantasy leagues.
