Week 10 of the fantasy football season is here, and we’re back with another crop of start/sit options. We have a nice set of data about each team through six weeks, and can make informed decisions on good plays and traps. With that in mind, we’ll pick quarterbacks who should exceed expectations in Week 10, along with three you should probably sit.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 10: Tight ends to consider
We break down the top starting options at tight end this week, along with some players who should be avoided.

Start
The Jets are among the league leaders in DVOA against the tight end position, but with Mike Evans sidelined this week, that ranking might not matter for Brate, who should assume a greater target share. Perhaps more important, Brate and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick worked extremely well together in Week 6 against Arizona, with Brate catching all four targets Fitzpatrick sent his way, including a touchdown.
Opportunity knocks in about the biggest way possible for Celek this week. With George Kittle ruled out, Celek will be the starter against the Giants, who rank dead last in DVOA against tight ends this season, allowing over 500 yards and eight touchdowns. Celek has never been much of a receiver, but he should have plenty of opportunities this week in a tremendous streaming situation for Zach Ertz/Travis Kelce owners.
Don’t look now, but Ebron is back from the fantasy dead. Ebron lost his starting job on Monday night to Darren Fells, and it was a wake-up call, as Ebron finished the game with his most catches since Week 2. He had three receptions for 35 yards, coming off a 58-yard game two weeks ago against Pittsburgh. Now he gets to keep it rolling against the Browns, who allow catches, yards and touchdowns to tight ends like they’re going out of style. Ebron is really tough to trust, but he’s coming around at just the perfect time.
Sit
Doyle is obviously red-hot right now, putting up double-digit fantasy games for four weeks in a row. But the thrill ride is going to hit a speedbump this week against the Steelers. Pittsburgh ranks second in the league in DVOA against tight ends, so while “sit” might be a little strong, expectations should be lowered here.
If you used Thomas in your lineup last week, hats off to you. Why you did that is a mystery, but it paid off, as Thomas found the end zone for the first time all season and put together a whopping 20 fantasy points. In his other seven games, Thomas has 30 points total. And maybe those are the numbers we should focus on, especially in a matchup with a Carolina team ranked sixth in DVOA against tight ends. Consider Thomas a one-week wonder and look elsewhere.
Clay has a decent chance of returning to the lineup after missing the past four weeks with a knee injury. And it will be tempting to get him back into fantasy lineups, after his solid chemistry with Tyrod Taylor early in the season. But Taylor now has a healthy Jordan Matthews and a recently acquired Kelvin Benjamin to throw to, which could limit Clay’s opportunities as he gets back into game shape. Maybe give Clay a week to get his legs back before committing him to your lineup.
