Week 11 of the fantasy football season is here, and we’re back with another crop of start/sit options. We have a nice set of data about each team through six weeks, and can make informed decisions on good plays and traps. With that in mind, we’ll pick quarterbacks who should exceed expectations in Week 11, along with three you should probably sit.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 11 Quarterbacks
We break down the top starting options at quarterback this week, along with some players who should be avoided.

Start
Usually, when the weather forecast calls for sustained winds in the 20s and gusts over 30 mph, we shy away from quarterbacks (and kickers). But we know that Smith is not a deep bomber. He utilizes Tyreek Hill in space on short passes. He dumps off to Kareem Hunt. He locks in on tight end Travis Kelce. He’s the king of the shovel pass. Certainly, the Giants defense isn’t going to slow down the passing game. All systems go here.
Forget Denver. The air is really rare in Mexico City, with an altitude registering a good 7,400 feet above sea level. The ball is going to be flying all over the field, and that’s great news for the Raiders passing game against a defense that has been torched by good passing offenses all season. Carr, Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree and Jared Cook should all pad their stats in this one.
Cutler has thrown for multiple touchdowns in four straight games. I know! I had to look that up, too. It’s never a comfortable feeling putting Cutler in your lineup, but his solid recent numbers combined with the Buccaneers’ poor pass defense actually puts the Dolphins in a pretty good spot this week.
Sit
Losing Ezekiel Elliott is bad enough. But the potential loss of left tackle Tyron Smith will really hurt the Cowboys’ offense. Without Elliott to keep the pass rush honest and without Smith to stop the charge, Prescott is a sitting duck once more. The offense looked lost last week in Atlanta. It doesn’t appear to be getting better anytime soon.
Stafford has been sensational for about a month now, but this sit is strictly matchup-based. The Bears have been brutal for quarterbacks in fantasy, especially when playing at home. They’re in the top 10 in points and yards allowed to QBs. Add in some prohibitive weather conditions and an underwhelming performance seems likely.
Eli Manning, Giants vs. Chiefs
The Chiefs under Andy Reid are one of the worst draws in all of football when Kansas City is coming off a bye. Manning had a decent game last week in San Francisco, but this is a whole other defensive animal to contend with, and as noted with Smith, the downfield passing game is going to be affected by the winds. Expect Manning to do a lot of handing off to Orleans Darkwa. Don’t expect him to put up a decent fantasy number.
