Veteran tight end Vernon Davis will once again be the starting TE for Washington with Jordan Reed sidelined with a hamstring injury. Reed left Week 8’s game versus the Dallas Cowboys in the first half and was unable to return. Davis had a quiet game Sunday, catching two passes on four targets for 20 yards in the contest.
Fantasy football start/sit, Week 9: What to do with Vernon Davis on Sunday
Davis will get a bigger role in Week 9 with Jordan Reed sidelined again with injuries. We break down the fantasy impact.

Davis is used to filling in for Reed, who has battled various injuries throughout his career. Davis had his first 50-plus yard receiving game and scored his only touchdown of the season when Reed was out in Week 3 versus the Oakland Raiders. Davis will have a tougher matchup on Sunday against a brutal Seattle Seahawks defense.
Fantasy impact: Davis has been in this position many times and he usually makes the most of it. He has some appeal despite facing a really good defense this week. The offensive line issues will have some adverse effect, but if Kirk Cousins gets too rushed, he will take more short passes in the middle, and Davis is likely to see many of those targets.
