The Oakland Raiders haven’t really lived up to expectations this season, but with four weeks left, they’re 6-6 and still alive in the playoff picture. Derek Carr, likewise, is having a slightly disappointing year after starting the season with MVP hype, but he’s still capable of turning in strong performances.
Fantasy football start/sit Week 14: What to do with Derek Carr
Carr gets a good matchup with the Chiefs’ crumbling defense this week. We break down the fantasy implications.

The Raiders took care of the New York Giants last week, and Carr had a good game, even while missing Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree. He threw for 287 yards and one touchdown on 22-of-36 passing. On the season, Carr is up to 17 touchdowns, eight interceptions, and 2,731 yards in 11 games.
Fantasy impact: Carr will be getting Crabtree back from suspension this week, although Cooper is still in the concussion protocol. The Raiders are taking on the Kansas City Chiefs, whose defense has fallen apart and is giving up the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
The last time these teams met in Week 7, Carr shredded them for 417 yards and three touchdowns in a comeback win. It’s a great matchup on paper, and fantasy owners should use Carr with confidence this week.
Recommendation: Start
