Tight end Jared Cook has always been prone to inconsistent stretches, and that’s proven true yet again in his first season with the Oakland Raiders. Through 12 games, he has 43 catches for 546 yards and just one touchdown.
Fantasy football Week 14: Jared Cook, start or sit?
Cook has disappeared even with good matchups in recent weeks. We break down the fantasy implications.

Cook had a relatively hot stretch midway through the season, but he’s been invisible recently. Over the past two weeks, he has only two catches for 11 yards, even with Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree out in Week 13.
Fantasy impact: With Crabtree set to return from suspension this week, Cook is hard to trust as a TE1 once again. He’s not lacking for looks from Derek Carr (10 targets combined in last two games), but his inability to come through in clutch spots lowers his fantasy ceiling.
This week, the Raiders take on the Kansas City Chiefs, whose defense is falling apart but still allowing the seventh-fewest fantasy points to tight ends. Cook had one of his better games against the Chiefs in Week 7 with six catches for 107 yards. He’s only an option for owners who won’t have Rob Gronkowski or Zach Ertz this week.
Recommendation: Start if you’re desperate
