The Detroit Lions will have their starting rusher, Ameer Abdullah, back in the lineup Saturday after he was sidelined two games with a mysterious neck injury. The third-year running back appeared on the Lions’ injury report after the team’s Thanksgiving day loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He played that full game and rushed six times for 14 yards. Abdullah also coughed up the ball once again. The Lions have started to back away from naming Abdullah the starter.
Fantasy football start/sit Week 15: What to do with Ameer Abdullah Saturday
Abdullah returns to the Lions’ backfield Saturday night after missing two weeks with a neck injury. We look at the fantasy impact.

Abdullah was not very productive in the Week 11 meeting with the Chicago Bears. He had 35 total yards and a receiving touchdown in the Lions’ win. The Bears run defense has been remarkable the last two games. They held the San Francisco 49ers to 110 yards on the ground in Week 13 and limited the Cincinnati Bengals’ depleted backfield to just 70 yards on Sunday. The Lions currently rank last in the league in rushing, at 76 yards per game.
Fantasy impact: The Lions have essentially abandoned their running game. Abdullah has only been given 20 or more carries in two games. His average amount of carries per game is 11. The Lions are even reluctant to name Abdullah as the starter. There are too many red flags to even think about starting him in such an important playoff week.
