It’s the moment of truth. Week 16 marks Championship Week in fantasy football, with league trophies and bragging rights up for grabs across the nation. Whether you made it this far, or are stuck in a consolation playoff system (or still playing into Week 17 for some reason), it’s important to still monitor the waiver wire.
Fantasy football waiver wire: Best tight ends available in Week 16
We explore the best waiver options with the fantasy championships on the line this week.

For once, there weren’t many major injuries to the tight end position. Hunter Henry played through a calf injury and should be ready for Week 16. That’s about it. Jordan Reed’s lost season ended early when he got put on injured reserve. And Greg Olsen is finally 100 percent and back on the TE1 map.
Let’s take a look at the top options owned in less than 50 percent of Yahoo! leagues.
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, New York Jets (46 percent)
A popular streaming pick after coming off his suspension at the beginning of the year, Seferian-Jenkins went invisible in recent weeks, with nine catches for 48 yards in the past four games. The Jets’ offense has gone in the tank with Bryce Petty under center, rendering ASJ an extremely desperate option at this point. He gets the Los Angeles Chargers next.
Eric Ebron, Detroit Lions (43 percent)
Written off as a lost cause for most of the season, Ebron has slowly crawled his way back to fantasy relevance. He scored his first touchdown since Week 10 last Saturday, to go along with five catches and 33 yards. Ebron remains a frustrating, unreliable talent, but he’s usable as a TE2 if you’re in a real bind. The Lions play the Cincinnati Bengals as they try to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Charles Clay, Buffalo Bills (32 percent)
It’s surprising that Clay hasn’t been a bigger factor with the Bills’ entire receiving corps falling apart, but he got a bit more involved in Week 15, with five catches for 68 yards in an easy win over the Miami Dolphins. Clay should stay on the TE2 radar, but he has a tough matchup with the New England Patriots, who held him to 20 yards on three catches in Week 13.
