The Atlanta Falcons’ Monday Night Football win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers officially eliminated the Green Bay Packers from playoff contention. With the playoffs out of the picture, the Packers are not going to risk long-term injury to quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The team announced on Tuesday that they have placed him on injured reserve, ending his season.
Fantasy implications of Aaron Rodgers being placed on IR
The Green Bay Packers are eliminated from the playoffs, and they have formally ended Aaron Rodgers’ season. We break down the fantasy impact.

The news is not entirely surprising given that they have nothing to play for these final two weeks. Rodgers returned in Week 15 from his fractured collar bone, and threw for 290 yards with three touchdowns and three interceptions. He took quite a few big hits, so the Packers want to play this thing safe.
Fantasy impact: Brett Hundley returns to the starting lineup. He had a huge Week 14 performance, throwing for 265 yards and three touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns. He gets a tough championship week matchup at home against the Minnesota Vikings. He is not someone you want to start unless you’re desperate.
