As far as raw talent goes, Christian McCaffrey is one of the more exciting rookie running backs in the league. However, it took both him and the Carolina Panthers a while to come up with a way to maximize his talents.
Fantasy football Week 16 start/sit: What to do with Christian McCaffrey
McCaffrey and the Panthers are getting hot at just the right time. We break down the fantasy implications.

McCaffrey’s actual rushing numbers on the season aren’t much to speak of — 102 carries, 382 yards, two touchdowns, 3.7 yards per attempt. However, it’s the passing game where he really shines, racking up 73 catches for 592 yards and five scores. McCaffrey had one of his best games yet against the Green Bay Packers last week, taking 18 touches for 136 total yards and a touchdown.
Fantasy impact: A genuine PPR asset who’s starting to fulfill his hype as a multifaceted threat, McCaffrey should continue producing for owners in the fantasy championship game.
He gets a good matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, whose defense is giving up the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs and seemingly had no interest in tackling Devonta Freeman last week. Fantasy owners can fire up McCaffrey as a confident RB2 this week.
Recommendation: Start
