Week 13 of the fantasy football season is here, and we’re back with another crop of start/sit options. We have a nice set of data about each team through six weeks, and can make informed decisions on good plays and traps. With that in mind, we’ll pick wide receivers who should exceed expectations in Week 13, along with three you should probably sit.
Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 13: Wide receivers
We break down the top starting options at wide receiver this week, along with some players who should be avoided.

Start
With Michael Crabtree suspended and Amari Cooper ruled out with injuries, Roberts steps up as the top wide receiver option for Derek Carr. Roberts should see all the snaps he can handle, both as a wideout and as a slot man, and with Janoris Jenkins out of the Giants’ lineup, he should have free reign. With the Giants on tank alert, Roberts could go off in a big way here.
The key to handicapping players against Arizona is to load up on slot/secondary receivers. This would have been a smash spot for Robert Woods. Instead, the honor falls to Kupp, who went wild last week with an 8-116 line in Woods’ absence and now gets to man the slot against a defense that has been killed by slot receivers all season.
The Patriots’ defense has improved since the beginning of the season, but they’re still the second-worst defense in the league against wide receivers. Jones has really come on since Kelvin Benjamin’s injury, garnering 10 targets last week and 24 over the past three. He needs to be more efficient, but the opportunities are going to be there.
Sit
Hilton failed in a sweet matchup last week at home. He’s already proven unreliable on the road, much less against the best secondary in the league. Even at home against Jacksonville in Week 7, he was held to two catches. Don’t go here. Please.
Sammy Watkins, Rams at Cardinals
Every week, we tell you to avoid Patrick Peterson. And pretty much every week, we get proven correct. Watkins was pretty good last week in the first game without Robert Woods, and he will be worth using over the next four weeks. But don’t use him here. Peterson simply will make you pay for it.
I think we’re all curious to see if Gordon can still get it done at a high level after having not played since 2014. I just don’t think going against the high-flying Chargers secondary (and defense in general) on the road is the best way to re-introduce him to fantasy starting lineups. Take the wait-and-see approach here and think about Week 14 instead.
