Stakes are high for the Carolina Panthers in Week 17. The Panthers are fighting to win the NFC South and potentially get a first-round bye. They will look for a big performance from their starting running back, Christian McCaffrey, on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons. McCaffrey had a great game against the Falcons in Week 9. He received a career-high 20 touches for 94 total yards and a rushing touchdown in the Panthers’ win. It was his first touchdown on the ground this season.
Fantasy football Week 17: Start or sit Christian McCaffrey?
The Panthers rookie rusher gets a fantastic matchup to end the season. We break down the fantasy implications.

The last quarter of the season has been rough on the Panthers rookie rusher. McCaffrey hasn’t eclipsed 11 touches or 58 yards in three of the last four games. He only has two rushing touchdowns this season. McCaffrey has more success as a pass-catcher out of the backfield, scoring three times through the air in the last six games.
Fantasy impact: The Panthers and Falcons have a lot to play for Sunday. This game should be highly contested. That will play into McCaffrey’s favor as the Panthers are likely to throw more than run. He burned the Falcons once this season. There is no reason he should not be able to have the same success in the season finale. McCaffrey is a solid flex option this week.
