The last two games have been horrible for Carolina Panthers wide receiver Devin Funchess — he had four catches for 30 yards in Weeks 15 and 16 combined. Last Sunday was reflective of a poor offensive game from the Panthers as a whole, even though the matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers favored Carolina heading into the contest. Funchess has been limited to no more than four catches in each of the last four games. He did, however, manage to score a touchdown in back-to-back games at the beginning of December.
Fantasy football Week 17: Start or sit Devin Funchess?
Funchess hopes to rebound in a critical season finale matchup with the Falcons. We break down the fantasy implications.

Funchess hopes to turn things around for the Panthers’ season finale against the Atlanta Falcons. The Panthers have a lot riding on this game as a win and a Saints’ loss would secure an NFC South title. Funchess had a solid outing against the Falcons in Week 9. He caught five passes for 86 yards in the Panthers’ victory. The Falcons have been solid versus wideouts all season. They allowed the ninth-fewest yards to receivers in the league.
Fantasy impact: Funchess has a good matchup against the Falcons this week based on how well he played in Week 9. He had a better matchup on paper against the Buccaneers and the Green Bay Packers the previous two games and fell flat. The Panthers are going to pull out all the stops for this game. That does not mean Funchess is a trustworthy play for the final game of the season. Based on his last two games it is best to let him sit this one out.
